HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DO A MAILING?
Like most generalizations, it depends. If we are mailing a postcard, in quantities up to 200,000 pieces, we can inkjet address, sort, bag, tag the mail and deliver it to the post office in 3 working days. Letters, depending on how much personalization is needed, whether we are using a window envelope, how many inserts go in the envelope with the letter, we’re moving up to a 5 day turnaround, +/- a day.
We’ll be happy to give you a schedule when we give you the estimate for the work.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE POSTAGE FOR A MAILING?
We estimate postage charges to the best of our ability and try to make sure that there is enough postage to avoid the mail being rejected. Postage will be estimated prior to the mailing. Estimated postage is due prior to the mailing, at the time of the order. Postage must be paid by cash or check or deposited into client’s postal account prior to mailing and is not refundable after submission to the post office. Morningside cannot be held responsible for return transportation if postage is not deposited in client USPS account, if that is their procedure.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE TO USE YOUR FIRST CLASS AND/OR STANDARD MAILING PERMIT?
We want to assure our clients of the deepest discounts available from the Post Office so we maintain First Class Presort and Standard permits for the use of our clients. There is no additional charge for the use of the permit.
WHAT’S THE USUAL RESPONSE FROM A MAILING?
Traditionally, 1% (.01), is considered the average response. Variations come with the type of offer, what you are asking the recipient to do…are you asking them to buy something? Try something? Look at a website? Call to reserve something? The more you ask the recipient to do, the more challenging it will be.
You also need to take into account the veracity of the list you are using, is it exactly what you need? is it current? is it clean?
HOW DO I KNOW MY MAILING WENT OUT?
We always want to add your contact info to the list, so you’ll get a live sample. And, depending on the mail class used, we may have a postal report showing the quantity mailed, the date mailed and the postage, verified and stamped by the post office that received the mail. We can email you a pdf of the form within days of the mailing. Please request it when you place your order.
CAN YOU CLEAN UP MY LIST?
The post office now requires that all mailing lists used in presorted or automatable mailings must be scrubbed, either through NCOA or Move Update technology. We can also pre-clean your lists, changing cases, adding suites, zip codes, etc on an hourly basis.
CAN YOU FIND ME A GOOD LIST TO MAIL TO?
Morningside Marketing is a recognized List Broker, having access to almost every list available. We also have the expertise to build your list from various sources, creating the best possible list to mail.
If you can identify your ideal mail recipient, we will do our best to find them.
CAN YOU INPUT NAMES I HAVE GATHERED SO THAT WE CAN MAIL TO THEM?
Of course we can. Data entry is done on a per entry basis. If your names are legible, we can enter them into a database, run them against the other lists we may use to eliminate duplicates, merge them with all other lists and create the list you want.
CAN YOU CONVERT AND MATCH MULTIPLE LIST FORMATS TO MAKE ONE LIST?
Once files are converted into a uniform format, we can merge the lists together, purge the duplicate records and create a single mailable list. Data management, merge/purge procedures are done on a cost per thousand basis (cpm).
CAN YOU HANDLE THE NCOA/MOVE UPDATE REQUIREMENTS?
Morningside Marketing is proficient in all the latest postal requirements and will bring that expertise to bear on your mailings, to assure you the best list hygiene and therefore, the best postal rates.
CAN WE USE MY CREATIVE TO START WITH? MY LOGO, OTHER ARTWORK?
Absolutely! As long as the art files are in a useable format and resolution, we’re happy to work with you on this. If you are interested, please ask your designers for high resolution, native files and send them to us. This could save time and money on a new project.

We do accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express. Please have all the billing contact information, codes and expire dates available at the time.
CAN YOU HELP ME PREPARE FOR A TRADE SHOW?
Absolutely! We can handle as much or as little of the preparation as you need. Some of our clients have found that hiring us to handle the entire show prep insures that orders and schedules are met, eliminating a lot of extra charges for missed deadlines. If you’re running your organization lean already, you can use Morningside Marketing to take care of this important and expensive project for just a few $$ more.
We take care of any and all orders, write-ups, shipments, etc. We can also handle all the graphics, printing and promotions for the show.
WHAT’S THE LEAST LEAD TIME TO PREPARE FOR A SHOW?
If you can give us six weeks, we can make it happen! Booth, print, PR, and shipping. You just show up and work the booth, greeting your customers and prospects.

While trade shows and industry specific meetings are costly, they are still the best venue for meeting the decision makers in your target audience. Statistics show that trade show attendance is down in terms of numbers, but the percentage of decision-critical attendees is way up. So this is your best opportunity to meet and impress those prospects who really matter.
